Etiquette of hiking

　　徒步礼仪/规则

　　Because hiking is a recreational experience, hikers expect it to be pleasant. Sometimes hikers can interfere with each other's enjoyment, or that of other users of the land. Hiking etiquette has developed to minimize such interference. For example:

　　徒步是项娱乐活动，徒步者是为寻求快乐。有时候徒步者会互相干扰，或者打扰本地人清净。因此，徒步礼仪有一些最简单的基本礼仪，比如：

　　1、When two groups of hikers meet on a steep trail, there may be contention for use of the trail. To avoid conflict, a custom has developed in some areas whereby the group moving uphill has the right-of-way.

　　简译：上山下山队伍狭路相逢，上山优先。

　　2、Being forced to hike much faster or slower than one's natural pace can be annoying, and difficult to maintain consistently. More seriously, walking unnaturally fast dramatically increases fatigue and exhaustion, and may cause injury. If a group splits between fast and slow hikers, the slow hikers may be left behind or become lost. A common custom is to encourage the slowest hiker to hike in the lead and have everyone match that speed. Another custom is to have experienced hiker(s) sweep up the rear on a rota, to ensure that everyone in the group is safe and nobody straggles.

　　简译：徒步各有速度，被迫以比自己自然速度快或慢的速度徒步，会感到不爽，也很难持久。更重要的是，走得过快，会导致疲劳和力竭，或致受伤。如果一个团队分成快慢两组，慢的就会被落在后面，甚或丢掉。一个惯例是：鼓励最慢的一位走队首，以使整队以他的速度前进。另一个惯例是：有经验的队员走队尾，以保证全队安全，无人陷入困境。

　　3、Hikers generally enjoy the peace of their natural surroundings. Loud sounds such as shouting or loud conversation, or the use of mobile phones, disrupt this enjoyment.However making noise is considered a necessary safety precaution in many areas home to large wild animals, especially predators such as bears.

　　简译：徒步主要是为享受宁静自然环境，因此，制造大动静，比如大喊大叫、高声讲话，或者使用移动电话，都会打扰别人的宁静。不过，制造噪音在一些大型动物，特别是食肉动物(比如熊类)的栖息地，是必要的安全预警行为。

　　4、To keep nature beautiful, it is important that no traces are left. Besides the obvious, such as bringing back all trash, leaving no traces also comprises taking care not to unnecessarily break plants or disturbing wildlife.
